{"id":182,"date":"2020-05-02T10:23:39","date_gmt":"2020-05-02T08:23:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hrwheelworks.be\/2018\/05\/29\/travel-and-work-during-spring\/"},"modified":"2020-05-25T11:06:52","modified_gmt":"2020-05-25T09:06:52","slug":"travel-and-work-during-spring","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hrwheelworks.be\/en\/travel-and-work-during-spring\/","title":{"rendered":"What if we look  at the Talent Review with an AGILE mindset?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Within the context of the\u00a0<strong>Talent<\/strong> <strong>Review<\/strong>, I have been using the word &#8216;agile&#8217; since more than 15 years.<br \/>\nAnd more specifically the words\u00a0<em>&#8216;learning agility&#8217;<\/em>\u00a0as a fundamental characteristic for employees, showing the ability and willingness to learn from their experience and use those lessons to perform effectively in new and different situations.<\/p>\n<p>These days the word &#8216;<strong><em>agile<\/em><\/strong>&#8216; refers to a\u00a0<em>mindset<\/em>\u00a0and a methodology.<br \/>\nSeveral organisations are implementing a more agile performance management cycle, meaning they want their leaders to focus on continuous feedback conversations, preferably future oriented instead of a once-in-a-year backward looking evaluation.<\/p>\n<p>What would be the advantages of applying the\u00a0<strong>agile mindset<\/strong>\u00a0to Talent Review &amp; Succession Management?<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Imagine that &#8230;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>leaders share an\u00a0<em><strong>aligned<\/strong> vision<\/em>\u00a0on the added value of the Talent Review and Succession Management approach<\/li>\n<li><em><strong>career<\/strong> <strong>and behavioural development<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0in line with the business needs are at the center of the Talent Review<\/li>\n<li>the\u00a0<strong><em>follow-up<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0on the outcome of the Talent Review is a topic on the agenda of each leadership meeting<\/li>\n<li>the organisations&#8217;\u00a0<strong><em>talent pipeline<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>is not a static list of talented employees, but an\u00a0<strong><em>evolving pool<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>of employees showing an agile mindset<\/li>\n<li>&#8216;showing an agile mindset&#8217; is a\u00a0<em><strong>prerequisite<\/strong> to become a leader<\/em>\u00a0in the organisation or to be identified as potential successor<\/li>\n<li>leaders participate to the Talent Review Meeting,\u00a0<strong><em>cross divisions<\/em><\/strong>, to add value to the feedback and development initiatives for people they work with<\/li>\n<li>succession management of critical positions is focused on a 2 or 3 year time-horizon, instead of 5 to 6 years<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>&#8230; in order to be more agile in the way we look at Talent Review &amp; Succession Management.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Within the context of the\u00a0Talent Review, I have been using the word &#8216;agile&#8217; since more than 15 years.
